Charles H. Petri was a Personnal Guard to Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany. He moved his family to Galveston, Texas by freight ship around 1880. They traveled by wagon to Austin, Texas. There he got a job working on the construction of the Texas State Capitol as a granit cutter. His wife was the cook for the workers at the capitol, it was a soup kitchen located on the capital grounds. She gave birth to her 4th child there Charles Hubert Petri, 14 September 1885 in Austin, Travis County, Texas.

Immigrated to U.S. from Germany in 1881. Was in German army.

Appears on 1900 and 1910 Census, TX, Williamson Co., 8 J-Pct.

He is buried beside his wife Clara (Mossler) Petri.

And cherished memories never fade
