She was born Aug. 20, 1934, in West Point to Arvid and Verena (Anderson) Johnson. She received her early education through the eighth grade in rural School District 27 near West Point, and graduated from West Point High School in 1951.
She was married to Bill Abel, and they later divorced. While living in Fremont, Tippy worked for Paramount Designs, Pendleton Woolen Mills, Capri Restaurant, and since 1991 she was employed by the Wooden Windmill.
She had been attending The Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include: a son, Scott Abel of Fremont; a brother, Kent (and wife, Joan) Johnson of Oakland; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son and a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Greg Hall officiating. There is no public visitation, however, friends may sign the register book after 9 a.m. on Monday."
