Born to Millington Scogin (c. 1774-1841 in Georgia) & Sarah Hendon Scogin (c. 1778-after 1820).

Robinson married Catherine Smith (1814-after 1880 in Yalobusha County, MS) of Georgia on Dec. 18, 1834, in Clarke County, GA. I am sure Catherine is buried in this cemetery (Union Cemetery in Tillatoba, MS), but I believe her marker is lost.

Ten children:
• Mary E. Scogin Martin (1838-after 1923 in Warren, Arkansas; she lived as a widow with her brother Josiah)
• Sarah Rebecca Scogin Woodruff Hindman (7/2/1841-?; m. Nathaniel Green Woodruff on Sept. 21, 1863 in Winston County, MS; he died 5/6/1864 in the Civil War & she remarried J. A. Hindman on Apr. 12, 1874 in Yalobusha County, MS)
• Millington Scogin (1843-?)
• Harriet Caroline Scogin Wooten (1844-1919)
• William Young Scogin (1847-1908)
• Robinson Hendon Scogin, Jr. (1849-1901)
• James H. Scogin (1851-1921)
• Josiah H. Scogin (1856-1923 in Warren, Arkansas)
• G.F. Scogin (1857-?; a daughter)
• John V. Scogin (1864-?)

Robinson Hendon Scogin was named for his maternal grandfather, Robinson Hendon (1750-1832 in Georgia).

Scogin v. Scogin, a case involving Josiah Scogin & James Scogin and their sister, Mary Scogin Martin, went before the Arkansas Supreme Court and was decided on April 9, 1928. To read the entire case, Google Scogin v Scogin. It contains some valuable family information.

Farewell, my wife and children all,
From you a father Christ doth call.
Mourn not for me; it is vain
To call me to your sight again.
