Shirley Theresa Pizzamiglio, 87, of Spring Valley, and for the past few years living at Manor Court in Peru, died at 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. Born March 8, 1927, in Lostant to Orris and Carrie (Lenhausen) Murphy, she married Emil Pizzamiglio on June 1, 1946, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Arlington. He died Dec. 22, 2009. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish and the Mother Cabrini Society of the church. She worked at the Social Security Office as a claims representative for 20 years, retiring in 1987. She graduated Hall High School in 1943.
