Webb City, MO Joyce Marie Porter, age 83, of Webb City, MO passed away at 11:42 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2014 at Webb City Health and Rehab Center.

Joyce was born December 10, 1930 in Lindsborg, KS, the daughter of Charles and Ada Weddle.

While attending Bethany College in Lindsborg, she majored in music and served as a soloist, pianist, and cellist. She moved to Webb City in 1964 when her husband assumed the Pastorate of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and also sang in the Choir.

For many years she provided meals for the Webb City-Carl Junction Rotary Club. She enjoyed traveling, and accompanied her husband when he pursued higher education.

Joyce married Rev. Wayne R. Porter February 4, 1958 in Hutchinson, KS and he survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Jon Porter and wife Marcy, Kansas City, MO, three daughters, Mary Duff, and Tammy Graves and husband Ross, all of Joplin, MO and Janice Altland and husband Steve, Yorktown, IN, one brother Don Weddle and wife Johnelle, Wichita, KS, one sister, Nada Fetrow and husband John, Ponca City, OK, two sisters in law, Darlene Shaw, Edgar, NE, and Phyllis O’Dey and husband Don, Hastings, NE, five grandchildren; Aaron Kiser and wife Marta, Krista Altland, Rhiannon Medley and husband Wayne, Wes Porter, and London Porter, and five great grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Webb City with Rev. Greg Esselman officiating.

Private committal for the family will be prior to the service with Rev. Brock Watson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are requested to First Presbyterian Church of Webb City, or the P E O Chapter AY, in care of the Funeral Home.
