He was born May 11, 1888, at Astoria and resided in the Tri-city area since 1942. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Church of the Brethren of Astoria.
On July 16, 1910, he married Blanche Butler at Galesburg. She survives with four daughters, Mrs. Eileen Formhals of St. Augustine, Mrs. Adis Wells of Cuba, Mrs. Marla Weese of Miland and Mrs. Radene Lowry of Rock Island; two sons, Byron of Fairview and Forrest of Rock Island; two brothers, John of Burlington and Homer of Abingdon; a sister, Mrs. Fannie Voorhees of Abingdon; 27 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hukill Funeral Chapel at Cuba, where friends may call Wednesday after 4 p.m. Burial will be at Coal Creek Cemetery near Fairview.
