Services for Robert E. "Buster" Abbe Jr., 59, of Wilson will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Wilson with the Rev. Jason Gackle officiating.

Burial will be in Green Memorial Park under the direction of White Funeral Home of Tahoka.

He died Saturday, May 18, 2002.

He was born April 29, 1943, in Chicago and married Reda Lehman on Nov. 3, 1972, in Wilson. He lived in Chicago, Lubbock and Tahoka before moving to Wilson in 1972. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1962 and from Texas Tech. He was owner and operator of a bookkeeping and tax service in Wilson.

He was involved in Wilson Lions Club, Wilson Volunteer Fire Department, American Cancer Society, TAFTS, Wilson ISD board, St. John's Church Council and Lynn County Appraisal District.

He was an election judge and a Sunday school teacher. He wrote Wilson news for the Lynn County News and Slatonite newspapers.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Kevin Wayne of Wilson; a daughter, Loretta Jo of Liberal, Kan.; his mother, Mildred of Lubbock; a brother, Donald Ray of Lubbock; and a sister, Barbara Joann of Lubbock.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock, Wilson Lions Club or St. John Lutheran Church.
