Roy E. Carpenter, 71, of Bean Station, TN passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at his home, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born January 11, 1942 in Claiborne County, TN. He was saved at the age of 12, at Pawpaw Grove Baptist Church in Dry Valley and was a member of Freedom’s Chapel Baptist Church of Bean Station, TN.

He was proceeded in death by his son Mark Dwayne Carpenter, father & mother Andrew & Bessie (Collins) Carpenter, brothers Charles, Elbert & Lonnie; sisters Annive Harville, Dorsie Harville & Elva Mae Hale; and an infant brother and sister. He is survived by his wife Alice (Massengill) Carpenter; daughters Angie (Chris) Greene of Rutledge, Kim (David) Holt of Morristown, TN, Jenny (Don) Ervin of Jacksonville, Illinois, and son Joe Baer of Bean Station, TN. Grandchildren: Michelle Cain, Megan Carpenter of Morristown, TN; Tiffany (Brandon) Solomon of Blaine, TN, Dana Holt of Morristown, TN, Mary & Michael Ervin of Jacksonville, Illinois. Great-grandchildren, Dwayne & Nick Dalton, Isaak & Payton Simerly of Morristown, TN, and Brizen Solomon of Blaine, TN. Great-great grandchild Andrew Dalton. Brother Leonard Carpenter of Bean Station, TN, sister Geneva Harville of Franklin, Ohio. Also a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. Special friends Roger & Kathy Dalton and Danny Farmer & Terry Dalton.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Freedom Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Dalton and Rev. Roger Dalton officiating . Singers will be Debbie Johns and Mercy Driven. Interment will follow at McGinnis-Harrell Cemetery in Washburn. Family will receive friends, Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.at the funeral home. Arrangements by Smith-Reagan Funeral Home of Rutledge, Tn.
