Helene G. Bechtel
Helene G. Bechtel, 101, of South Street, Jim Thorpe, passed away Wednesday at Weatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Weatherly.
She was the widow of Kenneth E. Bechtel, who died Sept. 24, 1989.
Born in East Mauch Chunk, she was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Catherine G. Collins Klein.
A graduate of Mauch Chunk Catholic High School, Class of 1931, she had retired after working many years for Bell Telephone of Jim Thorpe.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe, the Catholic Daughters and St. Joe's FYI.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bob Bechtel; and six brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a son, the Rev. James C. Bechtel, with whom she resided; daughters, Sally Ann, wife of Jay Christman, Vine Grove, Ky., and Cathy, wife of Robert Hoerner, Schnecksville; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Regina Klein, Jim Thorpe; nieces and nephews.
Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Nesquehoning.
