ODESSA Frank Ray Cook, 70, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009, in Odessa.


He was born Jan. 3, 1939, to Norvin J. and Edith M. Cook in Dallas, Texas. Frank was a longtime resident of Odessa and was a driver for Merchants Motor Lines for 29 years.
In retirement, Frank loved spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him Po. He will be greatly missed.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jan Murr Cook of Odessa; daughter, Cassi Francisco and husband James of Odessa; son, Bryan Cook and wife Olivia of Odessa; five grandchildren Amber Shifflett and husband Eric of Abilene, Matt Francisco, Tyler Cook, Noble Cook and Ella Cook, all of Odessa; one great-grandchild, Noah Shifflett of Abilene; two brothers, Robert Cook and wife Janett and John Cook and wife Jane both of Odessa.


Family will receive friends and family Wednesday, March 4, 2009, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Gravesides services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jimmy Braswell officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home.
