ROARING SPRINGS - W.H. "Buck" Marshall, 85, died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Roaring Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnnie Williams, retired Methodist minister of Lubbock, and the Rev. Rickey Lawrence, pastor of Full Gospel Church, officiating. Burial will be in Roaring Springs Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador.

Mr. Marshall was born in Dickens County and was a lifelong resident of Roaring Springs. He was a member of First Christian Church. A retired farmer and stockman, he had served on the Motley County SCS board for many years. He was a member of Roaring Springs Lions Club, the Masonic Lodge, served as director for Motley-Dickens County Old Settlers Association and the Afton Farmers Cooperative.

He married Bessie Mae Smiley in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Wheeler of Lubbock; two sisters, Virgie Bannister of Plainview and Tressie Warren of Matador; and three granddaughters.
