Irma Eileen (Welch) Tomberlin, age 89, peacefully passed away in her Idaho Falls home on July 11, 2014.

Irma was born on June 15, 1925, in Midwest, Wyoming to Silas & Esther Welch. Home life was shared with two older brothers, Paul and Clyde. Irma married George Dean Tomberlin, Feb. 9, 1944, at the First Baptist Church in Edgerton, Wyoming. They lived in Midwest Wyoming during their working years and moved to Riverton, Wyoming, upon retirement. Dean preceded her in death on Oct.14,1996. Irma moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, several years later. She was a faithful believer in Christ and a devoted member of Eagle Rock Baptist Church. Irma was an accomplished pianist and served as a church pianist for over 30 years. She played for a traveling evangelist for a short time. Irma loved to travel and visited Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and much of the U.S., including Alaska. She enjoyed camping and often said the only way to eat a good hot dog was one roasted over a campfire. She cherished reading her Bible and was a prayer warrior for her family and others. She loved to play games with family and friends. Irma enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and tatting-skills which allowed her to give special afghans and other gifts to those she loved.

Survivors include a son, Terry (Cheryl) Tomberlin of Idaho Falls; a daughter, Rita (Dan) Webster of Decatur, Alabama; a granddaughter, Christy (Steve) Marsteller of Jackson, Wyoming; and grandsons, Tim (Laura) Tomberlin of Calgary, Alberta Canada; Eric (Jessica) Tomberlin of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Justin Webster of Decatur, Alabama, Phillip Webster Athens if Alabama and Evan Webster of Orillia, Ontario Canada; and six great grandchildren, Aylin Marsteller, Isaac, Caleb, Silas, Brian & Ella Tomberlin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Eagle Rock Baptist Church, 1080 South Bellin Road in Idaho Falls, with Pastor Mark Bevis, officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will take place alongside her husband, Dean, at 9:00 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, at Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo, Wyoming.
