ANDREWS (Special) — Services for James M. "Blackie" Pollard, 59, long-time Andrews resident are scheduled at 2 p.m. today in the Chapel of the Chimes at Singleton Funeral Home.

The Rev. Allen Forbis, pastor of Westley United Methodist Church of Andrews, will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews Cemetery.

Pollard died about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in Permian General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

A native of Hall County, he had resided in Andrews 23 years, moving here from Goldsmith. He was a self-employed welder, a member of the Moose Lodge and past member of the Odd Fellows.

Survivors include his wife, Evanell; a son, James W. Pollard of Andrews; three stepsons, Gary Parrish and Roy Don Parrish, both of Odessa, and Tommy Parrish of Jal, N.M.; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Rosenbalm of Josephine and Mrs. Margaret Hutto of Tallulah, La.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Imagene Hughen of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Streeter of Fort Worth, Mrs. Caroline Sundquist of California and Mrs. Jo Beth Calvert of Santa Ana, Calif.; three brothers, F. W., J. Y. and H. L. Pollard, all of Odessa; and 18 grandchildren.
