TUSCALOOSA Joyce Shipp of Tuscaloosa, died July 16, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, will announce complete funeral arrangements later.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sarah Benham; her brother, Jack Benham; her sister, Frankie Myers; and her son-in-law, Bob Letson.
Survivors include her husband, A R Shipp Jr.; her daughters, Shannon Templeton (Eddie) and Sherry Letson; her son, A R Shipp III (Judy); her sister, Delores Spurrier; her grandchildren, Allec, Leigh, and Julie Shipp, Shawn (Julie) and Ryan Templeton, and Rush (Tori) and Jack (Kate) Letson; and four great-grandchildren.
Joyce Shipp was born in Seymour, Texas and lived in Anson, Texas until she married Jack Shipp on September 13, 1950. They moved to Alabama in 1952. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa.
