Mildred Ard Carlisle Brown, age 96, widow of William A. Carlisle, Sr., and Vernon L. “Buddy” Brown, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at NHC Healthcare of Sumter.
Born in Hemingway, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lewington Leondus Ard and Myrtle Lambert Hodge Ard. She was retired from Sears Roebuck Co. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 50 years and recently joined Summerton Baptist Church. Mildred enjoyed playing cards and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Leon Ard; Four sisters, Lola Atkinson, Katie Danner, Lilla Belle Caudle and Virginia Ard; and one grandson, Robert Wayne Carlisle, Jr.
