Zoraster Robert Dike was born in Vermont in 1803, the son of Ebenezer & Rhoda (Hoisington) Dike.He removed to the old town of Sterling about1828.He was a farmer by trade, and a very Christian man. He married Amanda Eaton, daughter of Hartwell & Nancy (Crocker Eaton) Together they had at least six children; Edwin,Louisa, Flavilla,Abigail, Mary and Aurilla. Zoraster and Amanda opened their home for prayer meetings, as there were no churches in Sterling.They both rest in the shadows oof the beautiful Vermont mountains at Mountain View cemetery at Morristown Corners.Zoraster died in 1868, aged 65. Amanda, his wife died in 1889, and rests beside him.
