Velma James Miller, 82, went to be with the Lord at 10:11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 1992. Graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Gordon Mitchell of College Hills Baptist Church and the Rev. Lakan Mariano officiating. Johnson's Funeral home is handling arrangements. She was born April 10, 1910, to Willie D. and Mary Jane Bullock. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Earl James, on April 1, 1965. She married Joe D. Miller on Feb. 1, 1980, in San Angelo. Mrs. Miller retired from the R. G. Barry Co. and was a member of College Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Joe D. Miller of Big Lake; one son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Pebble J. James of San Angelo; one daughter and son-in-law, Frances M. James and John S. South, also of San Angelo; three step-children and their spouses, Darlene and D. D. Poyner, Winfred and Mary Ann Miller and Bill R. and Janell Miller; two brothers, Jesse R. Bullock of Mount Pleasant and Elmer Bullock and his wife, Lottie, of Emory, Texas; eight grandchildren, Terry L. and Thomas B. Hines, Michael W., Timothy M. and Kevin E. James, Rebecca L.
