Robert E. Barrett, 78, of Walker Road, died Sunday, Nov. 9,
2003, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation, Methuen, Mass.
He was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Kingston, the son of the late Raymond
and Florence (Rollins) Barrett. He was raised in Kingston and had resided
in North Providence, R.I., for more than 16 years before moving to Atkinson
in 1972.
He was a 1942 graduate of Sanborn Seminary and a 1949 graduate of the
University of New Hampshire with a degree in business.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Mr. Barrett was a retail manager for W.T. Grant Stores and was
formerly employed at Scanlon's Hardware in Andover, Mass., and Somerville
Lumber in Pelham.
He was a member of the Haverhill Rotary Club; the Haverhill Chamber of
Commerce; the Gray Eagles; the 96 Bomb Group; the Eighth Air Force Society;
and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hampstead.
He enjoyed traveling and doing automotive work on classic cars.
