Mother Faget, 88,
Dies at Academy
of Sacred Heart


Mother Elizabeth Faget, who
for 63 years was a religious of the
Sacred Heart, died at 10:50 a. m.
Friday at the Academy of the
Sacred Heart, 4521 St. Charles
avenue. She was 88 years old


A native of New Orleans, Moth-
er Faget was the daughter of the
late Dr. Charles Faget and sister
of the late Rev. Paul Faget, one-
time president of Loyola univer-
sity. She took her vows at Grand
Coteau and spent most of her re-
ligious life in Louisiana, being for
the past 30 years in charge of the
Fidelity of Mary, makers of vest-
ments for poor churches and mis-
sions of the state.

Surviving are a sister, Miss
Helen Faget, of San Francisco,
and many nieces and nephews of
this city.

Funeral services will be con-
ducted at 6:45 a. m. today at the
academy. Interment will be in
Grand Coteau.
