She graduated from Ballard High School in 1937. She went on to attend business school and then Parsons School of Design in New York City. She lived in Yarrow Point for 45 years. Lorraine was appointed Town Clerk January 1st, 1960 and was the mainstay of the Town of Yarrow Point for years to come, retiring in 1981. She was a lifetime member of the Yarrow Point Circle of the Overlake Service League and enjoyed painting, cooking, sewing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her first Husband, Hans H. Hansen, her son, Craig F. Hansen Diede, and her parents Etta and Edgar Putnam. She is survived by her husband Christian Diede of Yarrow Point, her daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Bill Schwartz of Mercer Island, sister Betty Wilson of Indianola, WA, brother Douglas Putnam of Edmonds, WA, grandchildren Andrea Diede of Edmonds and Danny and Ricky Schwartz of Mercer Island.
Visitation will be held from 12 - 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept 26 at Green's Bellevue Funeral Home. Services will be held at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 3030 Bellevue Way N.E., Bellevue, WA @ 1:00 p.m. Monday, Sept 27, 2004; Burial following @ Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue. Arrangements are by Green Funeral Home of Bellevue.
