He graduated from Port Arthur High School; was a World War II veteran in the Army Air Force and worked as the Head Boiler Maker Supervisor at Gulf Oil Corporation for forty years. He was a member of the United Methodist Temple in Port Arthur.
Survivors include his wife of sixty four years, Lydia Dugan Trahan; daughter, Patricia Knox and husband Ray Knox; two sons, Tony Trahan and wife Sue, Dennis Trahan; sister, Alpha Hamilton; grandchildren Richard Knox and wife Kelly, Jeffrey Knox, Lawrence Trahan and Chanel Trahan; three great grandchildren, Kannon Knox, Matthew Trahan and Clayton Trahan.
