Update:
Mr. Archer was a Dallas Police Department auto-theft detective assigned to the Trade Mart for President Kennedy’s luncheon. Two days later he was one of the witnesses to the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald and helped wrestle Jack Ruby to the ground. Later that afternoon he extensively interviewed Ruby. Archer told his family that Ruby was shaking and sweating but became calm when he heard Oswald was dead. He ultimately informed Ruby that he was going to be charged with murder.

Archer was interviewed by the FBI and deposed by the Warren Commission regarding the events of that long weekend and later he testified at Ruby’s murder trial.
