William J. Daniels, 77, of 1610 Michigan St., died Thursday at his home. He had been in failing health for the past five years.

He was born Oct. 8, 1877, in Ripon, and had spent most of his life in Oshkosh. He was a millwright for Foster-Lothman Mills for many years before his retirement 14 years ago.

Mr. Daniels was married Sept. 2a, 1897, to Miss Anna Kunde in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on Oct. 25, 1941.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church;

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Herbert Pollnow, Mrs. Carl Wegner, Mrs. Stephen Stewart, Oshkosh, and Mrs. Norman Hanson, Merrill; five sons, William Jr., Harvey, Lester, George and Edwin Daniels, all of Oshkosh; two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Newton, Oshkosh, and Mrs. Tillie Arndt, Milwaukee; 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Five sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, with Earl Zimmerman, intern, officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at Konrad Funeral Home from Sunday until Monday at 10 a.m. The body will lie in state at the church on Monday from noon until the hour of services.
