In Memoriam. Amid the closing shadows of November 14, 1905, the pure and gentle spirit of Mrs. Mary Stapler Wills was wafted to an eternal home with God. Her children, her grandchildren, her neighbors and her friends, who delighted to gather around her in the old home, will hear her loving voice on earth no more.
She was born December 20, 1830, was married to A. J. Wills in 1852. She joined the Baptist church at Cabin Creek about 45 years ago. She was an example worth of imitation, as a wife, mother and Christian, and lived her religion daily. Possessed of a sweet graciousness, she drew all to her with whom she came in contact. So gentle was she in spirit, so charitable in word and deed, that every recollection of her will be to her loved ones a pleasant memory. Her life was a benediction to her family, to her church and to all who came within the sphere of her influence. Her family, church and friends mourn this great loss, yet rejoice that God gave them such a mother and friend, and that she was spared to them so long.
Her body was laid to rest in the family burial ground; friends heaped high the grave with flowers she loved so well in life, and her soul was at home with God. She leaves to mourn her death a husband and five children: Mr. L. M. Wills of Belton, Dr. T. J. Wills of Washington, Ga., Mrs. W. S. Crisler of Fort Payne, Ala., Mrs. J. A. Eberhart of Maysville, and Mrs. J. H. Bryan of Gillsville.
