Born March 6, 1928, in Lee County, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Maggie Wilson Anderson. He received his education in the public schools of Lee County and was a member of Mount Pleasant African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lynchburg.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his companion, Henrietta Canty; eight children, Hattie Wilson, AC Anderson Jr. (Annette) of Mayesville, Ernest Anderson Sr. (Betty) of Lynchburg, Edith Abraham (William) of Columbia, Nathaniel Anderson (Persephone) and Claretha Sinkler (Ernest), both of Sumter, and Loretta Anderson and Marvin Johnson (Leslie), both of Philadelphia, Pa.; a brother, Roland Anderson of Elliott; nine grandsons; nine granddaughters; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Charlie Anderson; seven brothers, Henry, Marion, Willie Jay, David, Elijah, Edmond and Johnny Anderson; and a sister, Ruby Fortune.
Funeral services: Mount Pleasant AME Church, Lynchburg, with the Rev. Earnest Brown, pastor.
