Enlisted in the US Army on Dec 8, 1900. Died of cholera at Brigade Hospital in Nueva Caceres Ambos Camarines, Philippine Islands and is buried there.

News has reached the parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Toby of the town of Algoma, formerly residents of Jefferson avenue of the death of their son, Harry A. Toby which occurred in the Philippines July 14 from Asiatic cholera. The young man was twenty-three years of age and was a former member of Co. F. of this city. He enlisted as a volunteer January 1901 in Co. B. 28th IT. S. Infantry and had still a year and a half to serve.

Owing to the character of the disease from which the deceased died, the remalns were buried In quick lime and permanent interment was made In the distant island. The deceased had been ill in the hospital with malaria but recovered and four days after leaving the hospital was stricken with the deadly Asiatic cholera.

Besides the parents In the town of Algoma, a brother, William Toby of Wausau, survives.
