Ken married {Living) Hardway on 30 Aug 1969 in Charleston, Coles County, Illinois. They were the parents of 2 children.
Ken was a Baptist minister at several different churches over the years. He was at Enon Baptist Church in Ashmore, Illinois for 2 years. He then was at Blooming Grove Baptist Church in McLeansboro, Illinois for 3 years. He next became the preacher at First Southern Baptist Church (now known as Crosspoint Church) in South Roxana, Illinois. He was there for 16 1/2 years. Ken spent the final 15 years of his life as the pastor of Jerome Lane Baptist Church in Cahokia, Illinois.
Ken died in the emergency room of Alton Memorial Hospital at the age of 66 years, 1 month and 26 days.
He was survived by his wife; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, 1 couple of Godfrey, Illinois and the other of Glen Carbon, Illinois; 4 grandchildren; 1 sister and brother-in-law of Villa Ridge, Illinois; and 1 brother and sister-in-law of Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. on 14 Mar 2014 at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River, Illinois. Visitation was continued from 9:30 a.m. until beginning of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. the following morning at Calvary Baptist Church in Alton, Illinois. Burial was at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the One Mission Society in lieu of flowers.
