Lamoille County based lumber dealer and state legislator. Owned and operated a lumber mill in Wolcott, Vermont for over three decades. Served at various times as a town selectman, lister and justice of the peace. Represented Wolcott in the Vermont State House of Representatives from 1898-1900. Later moved to Morrisville, Vermont, and served terms as overseer of the poor and street commissioner. Died of bilious fever complications in November 1911.

Married November 15, 1867 to Parmelia Campbell. Later had one daughter, Effie, who died aged 19.
