Alma Gertrude Casey of Uvalde passed away on February 15, 2014 at the age of 93.

She was born on August 3, 1920 in Detroit, TX to John and Mary (Free) Hamelton. She married Orvel Vern "O.V." Casey on July 18, 1950 in McAllen, TX. He preceded her in death in 2008.

She is survived by two daughters, Arlene Nichols and husband, Richard of E. Lansing, MI; and Barbara Oliver and husband, Gary of Glenwood Springs, CO; two sons, Glenn Casey and wife, Pat of Uvalde; and David Casey of San Antonio; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Thomas Floyd "Jack" Batchelor; and Jimmy Wayne Casey; and three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Nathan Lafrenz will officiate.
