Attorney and civic leader based in Niagara Falls and Silver Creek, New York. An 1899 graduate of the Albany Law School and began the practice of law in 1900 at Niagara Falls. Served as Civil Service Commissioner for the City of Niagara Falls from 1905-1911 and occupied the post of corporate counsel for Niagara Falls for several terms. In November 1918 was an unsuccessful candidate for the New York State Assembly from Chautauqua County, being defeated by Joseph A. McGinnies. Was also active in fraternal groups in the Silver Creek-Hanover area, being a member of the Hanover Farmers Club, the Hanover Literary Society, Masons, and was a charter member and past president of the Silver Creek Kiwanis Club. He practiced law in Silver Creek from 1926 until his death.

Married Maryette Rugg (died 1955) on December 31, 1904. The couple were childless, as per Anderson's obituary in the 1958 Lake Shore News.
