CAYCE - Services for Naomi Holladay Hutchinson , 76, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of West Columbia, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Lonnie H. Shull Jr. and Dr. Thomas E. Cuttino, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery and Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Joe Borgkvist, Joe Bryant, Gerald Baker, Howard Collins, Robert Price, Jim Bartley, and Glenn Duke. Memorials may be made to "For Such a Time as This, II" at the First Baptist Church of West Columbia, 400 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169, or Lutheran Hospice, PO Box 502, White Rock, SC 29177. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia.

Mrs. Hutchinson died at her home on Friday, January 28, 2000. She was born in Clarendon County on August 9, 1923, a daughter of the late George Allen and Octave "Tavie" Richbourg Holladay. She was an honor graduate of Manning High School, class of 1940, and retired in 1985 as payroll clerk from the Pacific Mills in Columbia, after 21 years of service. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in West Columbia for 60 years, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 57 years, a prayer warrior, and an advocate for foreign and home missions. She was presently serving as teacher for the Faithful Sunday School Class and Group Leader of the Gertrude Ross Women's Missionary Circle. She was an active participant in the musical ministry of the Jubilant Singers and the First Baptist "Best Yet to Come" Seniors Group. She was an active volunteer and on the board of Directors for Gods Helping Hands Ministry. She was a Lexington Medical Center volunteer with over 2,914 hours of service and an active Lexington Medical Center Auxiliary member since 1985 having served as an officer and board member. She was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 130, Cayce and a member for over forty years. She held many other local offices and committee chairmanships. She was member and past president of the Silver Cross Circle of The King's Daughters.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Havie Haskell Hutchinson ; daughter and son-in-law, Judy H. and Jeff Gerald Bedenbaugh of Lake Murray, Prosperity; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Scott Allen and Christina Bedenbaugh; great-grandson, Noah Andrew Bedenbaugh of Westminster; brother, John Harmon Holladay Sr., of Manning; sisters-in-law, LaRue Ferrell Cromer of Cayce, Nellie B. Holladay of Manning, Hattie S. Hutchinson , Elaine Dykes Spigner, both of Cayce; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bennie Allen Holladay, Theodore L. Holladay, the Rev. Louis A. Holladay Sr.; sister, Octave "Sister" Ridgeway; sister-in-law, Mildred H. Walden; brothers-in-law, John Thomas Ferrell, Willliam Wilbur Hutchinson , William "Bill" Walden, Alan Cromer.
