JAMES R. "JIM" PINE, 86, died Monday, June 20, 2005. He was preceded in death by his wife Lavern Pine and his son Bob Pine. Jim is survived by his son Rodney Pine and wife Teri; his son William Pine; and his daughter Patricia and her husband Ken Gabriel; his grandchildren Ronnie, Trisha, Misty, Billy, Amber, Chris, Jack, and Bobby; and nine great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Jim served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army 804th Military Battalion during WWII, and he graduated from Tulane University with a B.A. degree in Business. In 1982, he retired from many years at Tenneco as Sr. Ad Valorem Tax Agent. He was a longtime member of St. John's Presbyterian Church who loved good conversation and enjoyed do-it-yourself home improvement projects. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Family will receive friends at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home at 12800 Westheimer on Thursday, June 23, 2005, at 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Presbyterian Church Building Fund or to the American Diabetes Association.
