"M. Cawthon died Thursday morning at 6 o'clock. He had been grieviously afflicted for several years, being blind and paralized so that he was confined to his bed at all times. He was a Macon [sic] and the Masonic brethern took charge of the remains and conducted the burial ceremonies, which took place this morning at the Childress cemetery. Mr. Cawthon left a large family to which the Index extends sympathy."]
