Lloyd Ann Fairchild

Lloyd Ann Fairchild, 72, of Grangeville, Idaho, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at her home in Grangeville, Idaho, due to a massive heart attack. Lloyd Ann, much like her mother, went in "true Texan style" with a heart of gold, well loved, and unforgettable. It isn't a lie when said, "when God made her he broke the mold."

Lloyd Ann was born in Cleburne, Texas, on Dec. 31, 1939, to Lloyd Bentley Rawdon and Mary Christine Hall-Rawdon. She was the eldest of three children. The first nine years of her life she traveled the southern and eastern most parts of the United States with her parents, owing to her father working as an oil and gas pipeline welder. While traveling the family spent quite a bit of time in Kentucky where Lloyd Ann developed a unique drawl, a mix of Texican dialect and Kentuckian twang.

Lloyd Ann graduated co-valedictorian from Godley High School in Godley, Texas, in the spring 1958. In the autumn of 1958 she rode a bus from tiny Godley, Texas, to tinier Albion, Idaho, to attend Magic Valley Christian College. It was here she first heard her husband-to-be say a prayer in church. It was love at first voice. After a short whirlwind romance they were married the following spring on March 6, 1959, at Twin Falls Church of Christ.

Lloyd Ann never realized how much her love and care helped others to survive and better themselves in this world. She took those unwanted and considered troublesome and provided a home, kinship, safe haven, and a listening ear for woeful sorrows, wonderful hopes, and dreams. She was the glue that bound her extended family together: a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, friend, and confidant.

Lloyd Ann was a great Southern style cook who loved to entertain her family and guests, and she was also an excellent seamstress and clothes designer. One of her greatest pleasures was making award-winning baby blankets and quilts for her loved ones.

Lloyd Ann was predeceased by two siblings, Glenda Naomi and Harold Dwaine Rawdon; father and mother, Lloyd Bentley Rawdon and Mary Christine Hall-Rawdon; her step-father, Richard D. Nichols; and her close friend/bosom buddy, Ellen Conrad.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years of Grangeville, Idaho; four children; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two pugs, all of whom she adored.

Two viewings will be held from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 24-25, 2012, at Blackmer's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. (MST) Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Church of Christ in Midvale, Idaho, with a graveside ceremony to follow at East Side Cemetery in Midvale, Idaho.
