Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery. Mr. Jones died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at his residence. He was born Aug. 18, 1954. Percy Garner and Son Mortuary.

On Wednesday, December 11, 2013, Morgan E. Jones quietly and peacefully departed this earthly life to go and be with his Heavenly Father. He was born August 18, 1954 to Laurence Jones, Sr. and Sally Mae Polly. Morgan professed Christ at an early age and united with Bethel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in San Augustine, Texas. He served faithfully as a “Steward” until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted and loving wife of 10 ½ years, Alice Joyce Holmes of San Augustine, Texas; son, LeShawn Oliphant of Houston, Texas; adopted daughter, LiAsia Burrell; five (5) brothers, Laurence Jones, Jr., of Houston, Texas, William Franklin of Houston, Texas, Henry Allen of Mesa, Arizona, Hollis Wilson of San Augustine, Texas and Calvin Jones of San Augustine, Texas; three (3) sisters, Margie Ree Gram, Ida Pearl and Francis Joy all of Houston, Texas.
