Clarence G. "Boots" Sooby of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Newportville, Pa., passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Hospice of Marion County, Ocala. He was 91.

He was the loving husband of Esther F. (Wills) Sooby.

Born in Wilkes Barre, Pa., Clarence was a production worker with the 3M Company.

Mr. Sooby served with the U.S. National Guard during World War II.

He loved to garden, talk to family and friends, and play softball.

Clarence was the father of Clarence "Boots" Sooby (Judy) of Langhorne and Lorraine J. Marconi (David) of Langhorne; brother of Marquand Sooby of Fairless Hills, Martin Sooby of Lower Makefield, Ronnie Sooby of Bensalem, and Eleanor Thomas of Fairless Hills. He also is survived by six grandchildren, Kristin McGee, David Marconi, Michael Sooby, William Sooby, Todd Marconi, and Noelle Marconi; six great-grandchildren, Cameron Sooby, Joey Marconi, Jackson McGee, Maria Sooby, Michael Sooby Jr. and Connor McGee.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at 10 a.m. Thursday at Faust Funeral Home, 902 Bellevue Ave, Hulmeville, where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service. Interment will be in Rosedale Memorial Park, Bensalem.
