Pioneer postmaster and hotelman for 35 years, John Henry Landon died at Edmonton. Well known throughout northern Alberta, Mr. Landon was associated with five hotels during his lifetime. He was born in Ontario and moved to Vermilion
in 1908. In 1907 he started the post office at Landonvllle, 28 miles north of Vermilion. The post office was named in honor of Mr. Landon. Later he operated hotels at Derwent
Clyde and Camrose.
