FAMILY HISTORY STORY:
Calvin C. Cunningham (b. 5 March 1812 Ross Co., Ohio, died 1865 near Grand Saline, Van Zandt Co., TX):
Calvin went to Texas about 1841, moved from Hopkins Co. to Wise Co. in 1855 and the next year to Navarro Co., and in 1862 to Grand Saline, Van Zandt Co., TX where he died. They left Wise Co. because of Indian uprisings. After the death of Calvin, the family moved to Wise Co., Onion Creek in Travis Co., Bell Co. where son, WALTER SCOTT CUNNINGHAM and Mary Stella Davis were married 28 Dec. 1893. Their diary indicates that they lived on school Creek, north east of Lometa, Lampasas Co., TX. There is a reference in 1899 that they had lived there 20 years. They lived there until 1917 when they moved North Brown Community north of Goldthwaite, Mills Co., Texas. The property in Mills County was bought in 1917. There they spent the remainder of their lives. The Mills County farm was sold in 1945 after the death of Walter Scott.
