Abraham K. was the firstborn son of Isham K. Pringle. It is believed that his middle name was Kennelly, named for his mother's maiden name. However it may have been Kennedy after his father's middle name. No exact proof has been determined since several census records are recorded both ways. Many of his descendants say Kennelly, which is often spelled many different ways. Abraham was named after his grandfather, a prominent plantation owner in MS, of Scottish descent.

Abraham is a veteran of the Civil War, CSA, enlisted 6 May 1862 at Camp Whitfield, Columbus, MS, in Co. I, 37th MS Infantry Regiment, appeared on the casualties list of Hebert's Brigade at the seige of Vicksburg, MS, 4 Jul 1863. He was taken prisoner at Nashville, TN 15 Dec 1864, age 37, POW #617, and was exchanged 13 Mar 1865 at Point Lookout, VA, dischged at rank of Sargeant.

Abraham & Sarah Adaline Pringle were married on 2 Feb 1859. Abraham K. and Sarah migrated from MS to Anderson Co., TX, then to Falls Co., TX, then Kosse, Limestone Co., TX, settling in Thornton, Limestone Co., TX being a farmer and blacksmith. Abraham and Sarah Pringle had eleven children. It is believed that he and his wife is buried in Thornton Cemetery, Thornton, Limestone Co., TX.
