Charles E. Turner, 81, of McLeansboro, passed away 10:34 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital, McLeansboro.

Mr. Turner was a farmer.

He was born Feb. 10, 1932, in McLeansboro, a son of Irving and Virgie (Oxford) Turner.

Charles married Patsy Jane Henderson on Nov. 22, 1949; she survives.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 16, at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro.

The funeral will be noon Saturday at the funeral home with the Revs. Steve Shoultz and Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, McLeansboro.

In addition to Charles' wife, survivors include one daughter, Sandra Drake and husband Roger of McLeansboro; one son, Jeff Turner of McLeansboro; one granddaughter, Tennile (Drake) Feece and husband Jason of Plymouth, Ind.; great-grandchildren Tanner Jay, Paige Elaine and Drake Turner Feece; one brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Shuster of Shelbyville, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Juanita Turner of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charles attended Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, McLeansboro. He loved to paint houses and to garden and was proud of his John Deere tractors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ray and Gene Turner; sister Velrea Shuster; and granddaughter Stephanie Dawn Drake.
