about Elijah G Sanders Name: Elijah G Sanders
State of Cemetery: Alabama
Date of Death: 17 Oct 1864

Served pvt. Company A, first Alabama cavalry.

I do not know for certain that he is buried in the Blue Springs Cemetery but the tombstone record does show that he was buried in Larkinsville, and there are a number of graves in Blue Springs with monuments that are no longer legible.

He married Martha Jane Sanders on July 3, 1848 in Marshall County, Alabama. She was probably a relative but the names of her parents are not known.

They had the following children:
Martha Ann Adeline, born 1849
Elizabeth Eliza G. , born 1851
Sarah Sally Rosanah, born July 8, 1853
William, born 1856
Margaret E., born 1860
Joseph Lemuel M., born February 1862.

This Elijah Greenville Sanders who died in Jackson County in 1864 is often confused with his second cousin, Elijah Greenville "Bud" Sanders (1833-1925). There was also another Elijah G. Sanders, born in 1856, who was a nephew of the one who died in Jackson County in 1864.
