Clayton was the husband of Mary Julia Gardner. He was named head of the Physical Education Dept. at Gettysburg from 1927-1953. He was a graduate of Lehigh University where he was an outstanding football player and played in other sports.
I checked with the Evergreen Cemtery office and they said he was buried here. I found a large monument with Bilheimer on it and a flat in ground stone with his wife's name on it but not one for Clayton. He lived with his daughter after retirement both in Philadelphia and New Hampshire. He could be buried at one of these three places.
