[according to the baptism records of Zion Church, Millstadt, she was born in 1854 but her obituary states it was 1855. She married Christ H. Keck on 23 Feb. 1879]

KECK, Maria; nee PETER; she died on 30 January 1916, aged 60 years at the family home and was buried in Mount Evergreen Cemetery on 1 February 916. She was born 28 March 1855 in Stookey Township a daughter of Nikolaus PETER & Katharina, nee ENGLER. [Her father died 25 July 1857 and her mother on 2 Nov. 1902] She was married on 23 February 1879 to Christian H. KECK. They had no children but adopted 2 nieces: Lucy BRIESACHER and Elmyra MUELLER. She is also survived by these half-brothers: Christian PETER; Fred KERN; Charles KERN and a brother, Nickolaus PETER. [page 136 # 570]
