Fred Icenogle, 80, of 609 North G St. died Thursday in Burlington Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1903, at Rushville, a son of William and Frances Dunn Icenogle. He was raised and educated in Brown County and in the state of Kansas. He married Reha R. Lovitt, Sept. 20, 1923, at Cameron.
Mr. Icenogle had worked as a spot welder for Rowe Manufacturing Co. for 29 years. He was a member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union of Galesburg.
Survivors include his wife, Reha Icenogle of Monmouth, one daughter, Mrs. Lee {Shirley} Tansey of Middletown, Iowa; three sons, Norman L. Icenogle of Ethel, La., the Rev. Delbert Icenogle of Sherrard, and L. Dale Icenogle of Gerlaw: 13 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; one brother, the Rev. William Icenogle of Houston, Texas; one sister, Maude Thomas of Davenport, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Turnbull Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Shoup, pastor of the Gerlaw Christian Church, officiating. The family will receive visitors in the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Serving as pallbearers were Wayne Canfield, David Icenogle, Terry Icenogle, Joe Icenogle, Kenneth Knowles and David Stropes. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Paul Jacobson, Froman Galyean, Lowell R. Yates, Vincil Conley and Allen Beckham.
Memorials may be made to the Southeast Iowa Homemaker Health Service. Burial was in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery.
