Loretta Irene Bush, 78, of De Leon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior September 1, 2013.
She was born May 2, 1935 in De Leon to Henry Hiram Peevy and Hattie Mae Hardin Peevy.
Loretta was a member of First Baptist Church of De Leon. She was active in the hand bell choir and the Joy Sunday School Class. She volunteered at De Leon Head Start and De Leon Elementary School for many years. Loretta was a devoted homemaker. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife and mother.
Loretta was first married to Clyde Brinson and from that union two sons were born. After many years of marriage, they were divorced. Loretta later married Jerry Bush April 6, 1973, combining their families.
Loretta is survived by her sons, Ricky Don Brinson, Danny Joe Brinson, Jerry Brent Bush and wife, Debbie, and Chuck Alvis Bush and wife, Donna; 8 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bessie Peevy; daughter of the heart, Bonnie Holt and husband, Eddie; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry in January 2003; step-daughter, Vickie Lynn Bush; parents, Henry Hiram Peevy and Hattie Mae Hardin Peevy; sisters, Dora Laura Peevy Box and Mary Beth Peevy Hodges; and brothers, Henry Garland Peevy, Johnnie Rondald Peevy and James Donald Peevy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of De Leon. Graveside services will follow in Downing Cemetery. Brother Jackie Auvenshine and Brother Daniel Harper will officiate the services.
Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home.
