DIES AT PATTERSON

Was Active in Church and Social Life of the Village

Mrs. Alice Maude Quinn, wife of Eli Bailey Crosby, died at her home in Patterson at 7:30 P.M. Sunday. She was the sixth child of a family of eight, only one now living being Mrs. Julia Fields of Island Falls, Me. She was a daughter of Frances and Reardon Quinn, of Carmel, Me. She is survived by her husband and by five nieces and four nephews.
Mrs. Crosby was sixty-five years, two months and twenty-one days of age, and was born September 22, 1870 at Carmel, Maine. She was a member of Patterson grange and was past district deputy of Athena Rebekah lodge, I.O.O.F., of Brewster jurisdiction of New York. She also was a member of the Patterson Baptist church and at one time was president of the Ladies' Aid society. She was an active member of the local W.C.T.U.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late home. Services were conducted by Rev. Joseph Peters, pastor of the Baptist church, and were attended by a large number of relatives and friends.

Mrs. J.J. Johnston and Mrs. Junia Dykeman sang two favorite hymns of Mrs. Crosby's "Lead Kindly Light" and "Nearer My God to Thee". Mrs. Peter O'Hara was pianist.

The acting pallbearers were the four deacons and two trustees of the Baptist church. Interment was in the family plot at Four Corners Cemetery.

ELI B. CROSBY DIES
IN POUGHKEEPSIE

FUNERAL HELD ON WEDNESDAY

Life Long Resident of Town of Patterson
and Former Supervisor Succumbs to Pneumonia.

Eli Bailey Crosby, a life long resident of the town of Patterson and at one time supervisor, died on Monday at Vassar hospital in Poughkeepsie following an illness of pneumonia of one week's duration.

He was born at Towners, October 6, 1870, a son of Walter S. and Hattie E. Crosby. He attended school at Chapman's seminary at Pawling. When a young man he worked as clerk in his father's store in Towners. He learned the blacksmith trade and after his apprenticeship conducted business for himself at Towners and later at Patterson. He also learned the carpenter's trade.

On Sept. 23, 1934, he married Alice M. Quinn, of Carmel, Me., who died January 12, 1936.

He is survived toy a brother Elbert C. Crosby, of Patterson.

He was a member of the Patterson I.O.O.F., and Patterson Grange; He was at one time supervisor of the town of Patterson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Patterson Baptist church, Rev. Samuel H. Fields, officiating. The bearers were Ralph Nichols, Andrew Rutledge, Henry Burton, Daniel Ludington, Arthur Hamilton and Junia Dykman. Burial took place in the family plot at Four Corners cemetery.
