PULASKI — Oakie Franklin Hall of Pulaski went to be with the Lord on Tuesday Evening, Oct. 8, 2002 after a long and courageous fight.

He was born Oct. 11, 1931 in Pulaski and served in the United States Army in the llth Airborne Division.

He retired from the Sheet Metal Shop at Radford Arsenal in 1992. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was a member of the Bob White Boulevard Church of God.

He was a loving husband, father and "Papa". He enjoyed sitting on the front porch of his home on Robinson Tract fondly known as "Tapawingo" and he was a devoted John Wayne fan. He enjoyed football and Nascar racing.

He was the son of the late Robert R. Hall and Madeline H. Hall and was also preceded in death by four brothers, Robert "Son" Hall, Foy Hall, Herman Hall and Joe Hall and by one sister, Peggy Jean Morris.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Bob White Blvd. Church of God, Pulaski with Rev. Jerry Collins and Rev. Raymond Coake officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be Thursday evening from Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
