Walter Alderton was a British Home Child emigrated to Canada by Dr Barnardo Homes. On February 25, 1911, Walter Alderton, William Alderton (b. about 1901) and Frederick Alderton (b. about 1903) departed Liverpool aboard the Sicilian. They were brothers. They arrived in Halifax on March 9, 1911. From there, Walter, William and Frederick travelled with their travelling party to the Barnardo receiving/distributing home in Toronto, Ontario. From the distributing home they would be placed out to work in indentured service.
