WALKER, SR Royce E. Walker, Sr. passed away December 3, 2001. He was born in Quitman, GA., May 21, 1923. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army 238th Combat Engineers during WWII, and participated in the first wave of the D-Day invasion of Normandy, France. Royce was a charter member of the Terry Parker Baptist Church.
Royce is survived by his wife, Lena of 51 years; sons, Royce E. Walker, Jr. of Lawrenceville, GA., Richard Walker of Jacksonville, FL., David Walker (Cindy) of Florence, S.C., Peter Walker (Kathryn) of Tallahassee, FL.; grandchildren, Michael and Sara Walker of Florence, S.C., Patricia and Amanda Walker of Tallahassee, FL.; brother, James Walker (Evelyn) of Waycross, GA. and many loving nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 7, 2001, at 1:00 p.m., at the Terry Parker Baptist Church, 7024 Merrill Rd., Jacksonville, FL., with Dr. Joe H. Courson officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. Arrangements by COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 940 Cesery Blvd.
