Windsor Locks, CT. Phil was honest, tireless, unique, kind, generous, and deeply loved by his family, friends, and community. He was born in Littleton, MA, graduating from Wayside Inn Boy's School in Sudbury, MA in 1940, majoring in Agriculture, and went on to further study at Clark University in Worcester. Phil served in World War II in the storied 31st Bombardment Squadron of the Army Air Corps from October 1942 until December 1945 as a Staff Sergeant Flight Crew Chief on the B-24 Liberator flying photoreconnaissance missions in the New Guinea/Western Pacific/Luzon Campaigns, among others, notably with the 394th Bomb Squadron in Samar and Clark Field, Philippines.

Very athletic and a true outdoorsman, Phil founded Scott's Sports Supplies in Windsor, CT, in the mid-1970's, retiring in 1984. He coached Little League in Windsor Locks for many years and was a member of the VFW Post 6123. He was a voracious reader and a self-taught renaissance man. A kid at heart, we'll remember him eating ice cream and carving pumpkins with his grandchildren, teaching them to fish at Lake Sunapee, patiently explaining the Daily Racing Form and the principles of blackjack to his daughter, and expertly lacing baseball gloves and stringing tennis rackets at the store with his son.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Natalie (Czelusniak), the wind beneath his wings and the love of his life.; children Barbara-Anne V. Scott of Windsor Locks, and Richard P. and wife Kelley Scott of Enfield; grandchildren Naomi D. Fisher of Hingham, MA, Colleen A. Fisher of Chicopee, MA, Elisabete Fox and husband Seth of Simsbury, and Ana-Mari Arruabarrena of Astigarraga, Spain; and great-granddaughter Sydney G. Fox of Simsbury, and other extended family members, as well as the many friends he made during his very full and exceptional 91 years. He was predeceased by his parents when he was a young child, Eva M. (Pratt) and Charles G. Scott,of Littleton, MA, and later by brothers Charles, John, Robert, and sister Laura. Funeral arrangements are private and at the convenience of the family. The family wishes to especially thank the entire staff on the 10th Floor at St. Francis Hospital and the Masonicare Palliative Care Team who provided excellent care and peace to our dad in his final days.
